Costa Rica - San Diego Micro Lot
Process: Natural
Taste notes: Stone fruit, red cherry, grape
Nestled in the heart of Costa Rica, the San Diego Mill stands as a beacon of modernity and innovation. Since its establishment in 1888, this mill has been at the forefront of coffee processing, continually pushing the boundaries of excellence. Today, San Diego Mill proudly specializes in the rich, flavorful coffees from the renowned Tarrazú and Tres Rios regions. With over a century of expertise, it remains a leader in the coffee industry, blending tradition with cutting-edge techniques to deliver exceptional quality.
Grown in the lush Tarrazú region of Costa Rica, this natural (dry) processed coffee is a true gem. Smallholder farmers carefully deliver their cherries to the San Diego Mill and its satellite stations. At the mill, only the ripest red cherries are selected for this exclusive micro-lot. The cherries are then spread out with their fruit intact, turned regularly to ensure even drying and optimal air circulation. After hulling, the coffee undergoes a meticulous cupping process by San Diego’s quality control team. The result? A wild, bold, and fruit-forward coffee that captures the essence of its origin.
